Who We Are
WomenShine is a group of caring Albuquerque women who recognize the needs that exist in our community. We want to help, but our lives are busy, and the need feels so overwhelming it’s hard to know where to start. So we’re finally taking action in whatever small ways we can to make a difference.
And we’re doing it together.
What We Do
Starting in July 2025, we will meet once a month for a couple of hours to help a local nonprofit or meet a need in our community. We’re making it easy for busy, caring women to have an impact while enjoying some great “girl time.” In essence —
We’re making “doing good” doable. And we’re building our own supportive community in the process.
Why We Do It
Women are the change makers and nurturers of the world. Even the smallest action within the context of our busy lives can make a big difference. Our community, our city, our state, our nation, and our world need us.

What a joyous November WomenShine Meetup!
For our November Meetup, we partnered with New Mexico Child First Network to provide Christmas stockings for foster children who will be living in CYFD offices this holiday season. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of foster homes in New Mexico, and sometimes it takes a bit to find a placement for new children who come into state care. When this happens, the children sometimes end up staying in CYFD offices temporarily. As you can imagine, this will make a very difficult holiday season even harder for kids in that situation this year. So the awesome women of WomenShine came together to bring a little bit of joy to these children.
We stuffed 16 large Christmas stockings for these precious kids, filled with toys, coloring books, crayons, card games, disco ball lights, and tons of other goodies to make them smile! It was a fantastic community effort — so many people donated stocking stuffers that we filled them to the top and still had great items left over! All of the donations will be given to foster children this holiday season. AND, we stuffed stockings for the dedicated CYFD staff who will be staying with these special children over the holidays - spreading some cheer to everyone!
On top of that, we had a great night of fun and connection. You can’t ask for much more than that!
